Two old sites, now one

Redesigned by Bullfinch: Lighthouse Therapeutics, a therapy practice in Longmont, Colorado.

A redesign pays when the site earns more

An old site rarely costs you money by looking dated. It costs you quietly: people land on it, can't see what to do next, and go to someone else. A website redesign is worth paying for when it pulls two levers, and both start moving the day the new site goes live.

1Convert

More of your visitors get in touch

Each page is written and laid out around why people act, with one clear next step, so more of the people already arriving call, book or ask for a quote.

2Get found

More people find you

Your new site comes up fast on a phone and says in plain words what you do, so more of the people searching for that find you.

A site that brings in customers, not one that just looks newer.

Three old sites, redesigned

Real homepages from three small businesses. On the first two, drag the handle to compare the site they had with the one they run today. The third shows the new site only.

Keep the Google traffic you already have

Your Google listings, people's bookmarks and links on other sites all point at the page addresses you have today. Before the new site goes live, each old address is paired with the page that replaces it and given a redirect: a standing instruction that sends anyone asking for the old address, Google included, straight to the new page. Nobody lands on an error.

Lighthouse Therapeutics, live today

Checked October 13, 2026

This practice ran two websites before its redesign. Both old domains, and old pages like behavior-therapy, now open the new site; so do a few retired addresses on the new domain itself.

Two old websites, one new one

  • lighthousetherapeutics.com old domain now opens lighthousenbh.com
  • lighthousenba.com old domain now opens lighthousenbh.com

Old pages, new homes

  • lighthousetherapeutics.com/behavior-therapy now opens lighthousenbh.com/aba/
  • lighthousetherapeutics.com/our-team-aba now opens lighthousenbh.com/team/
  • lighthousenbh.com/adultneurofeedback now opens lighthousenbh.com/neurofeedback/
  • lighthousenbh.com/pricing-summary now opens lighthousenbh.com/services/#pricing

Keeping what you've earned is the floor. The new site is also built to Google's best practices from day one, quick on a phone and plain about what you do, so it's in better shape for the searches the old one missed. More on that in SEO web design.

What changes so more visitors get in touch

You hire a website redesign agency for more calls, and a new look won't bring them. We change what each page says and what it asks a visitor to do next.

  1. Old site Written in your trade's terms

Your message, in your customers' words

Headlines use the words people search and ask with, so a visitor knows within seconds they've found the right business.

  2. Old site Five links competing for a click

One next step on every page

Each page asks for one thing, a call, a booking or a quote, and puts that button where the eye lands.

  3. Old site Answers buried, or missing

The answers people call about, up front

Cost, areas served, what happens first: the questions that fill your inbox sit on the page, so people reach out ready to go ahead.

  4. Old site Slow and fiddly on a phone

Quick and easy on a phone

Pages open fast, text reads without pinching, and the button sits within reach of a thumb.

Built in Astro, not on a page builder

Astro is a fast framework, so yours skips plugin updates, slow pages and template limits of WordPress and one-size-fits-all site builders. You still edit the wording, photos and prices in a simple editor.

How the redesign goes, without your site going down

From the first call to launch, the redesign runs in five plain steps. Your current site stays up and taking calls the whole way, until the new one replaces it.

Studio desk in morning light with two monitors: an older busy web layout on one, a clean new layout on the other

Your current site stays live through every step until launch

  1. Day one

    A 30-minute call

We talk it over on Google Meet: what the site should bring in, and what the old one gets wrong.

  2. Within a week

Your price, fixed and in writing

One number for the whole job, agreed before any work starts.

  3. Next

    We write the pages

From that call and from whatever already works on your old site, so what earns for you carries over.

  4. Before launch

You review it on a preview link

Try every page on your phone and your laptop, then send us whatever you want changed.

  5. About day 60

    Launch

Old page addresses already point to their new pages, so links and Google results land safely.

What a website redesign costs

What moves your number

  • How many pages the site needs
  • Merging two or more sites into one
  • Online booking or payments
  • How much of the writing we do

The price can't creep

A week or less after we talk, you have one price for the whole job, in writing. You pay by the project, not by the hour, so no surprise invoices.

The site stays yours

Your domain, your code and your hosting accounts stay in your name. Should you ever switch to another developer or website redesign company, you take every file with you.

Two people do the work

That's the whole of Bullfinch: the two people pictured here. You talk to them on the intro call, all through the build and on launch day. Your project is never handed off to an account manager.

Questions owners ask before a website redesign

Plain answers to the worries that come up most. Anything else, bring it to the 30-minute call.

  1. Will a redesign cost me the Google rankings and traffic I have now?

It shouldn't, because nothing is left to chance at launch. We go through every address on your old site and set a redirect from each one to the new page that covers the same ground, so a visitor coming in from Google or a saved bookmark lands on the page they meant to reach. Lighthouse Therapeutics had two old domains, and both, along with their old pages, now open the new site. Every new page also follows Google's best practices from the start.

  2. How much do your website redesign services cost, and can the price go up partway through?

It can't go up. Once we've talked, a single written price that covers the whole project reaches you within a week, and that's the bill. There's no hourly rate, so nothing climbs while we build. Most sites total somewhere from $5,000 to $40,000.

  3. Will a redesign bring in more customers, or only change how the site looks?

Looking newer is never the goal on its own. Each page is written to lead people to one next step, like calling, booking or asking for a quote, so more of your visitors reach out, and it's built so it reaches more of the people who search for your kind of work. We won't promise a figure in advance; we promise a site designed to do both of those jobs.

  4. How long does it take, and will my site go down while you work?

Most redesigns are live roughly 60 days from the first call; Cahoots Tavern took 18 days. We draft the pages ourselves, using our call and the parts of your old site that already work, so your part is mostly answering questions and checking the new site on a preview link. Your old site stays online and keeps bringing in calls until the new one takes over on launch day.

  5. Do I own the new site, keep my domain and content, and can I edit it myself?

Yes to all of it. The domain, code and hosting accounts are owned by you outright, so if you ever want the site somewhere else, it's yours to move. Whatever's working on your old site comes across too. Once it's live, you keep your own photos, prices and wording up to date through an editor we set up for you.

  6. My last redesign was a let-down. Won't this just be another template?

No. Every site is built from scratch in Astro, a fast modern framework, around your business rather than poured into a theme. Cahoots Tavern, shown above, moved off Squarespace to a custom site made for that one bar. And before anything goes live, you look over the design on a preview link and tell us what to change.

  7. We sell to other businesses, not the public. Does that change anything?

It changes who the pages speak to, not how the project runs. A B2B website redesign is written for buyers comparing suppliers, so the main action is usually a quote request. Our work for Full Scope Metals shows how that looks: the custom metal roofing fabricator in Kremmling, Colorado sells to contractors, and its old site could have belonged to any supplier. The new site has 8 pages, makes requesting a quote the main action, and scores 100/100 on Google's speed test for phones.

Book 30 minutes about the site you have now

Bring the old site just as it is. We'll open it together on Google Meet and talk through three things:

  1. Your current site, page by page
  2. What it should bring in: the calls, bookings or quotes you want more of
  3. What to keep and what to drop, so whatever earns today carries over

Within a week you have one fixed price in writing. Then you decide.

Until a new site goes live, the people landing on the old one keep reading a page or two and leaving without calling. The sooner we talk, the sooner that can change.
