SEO web design: a website built to bring you customers from Google.

With SEO web design, every page of your new website is planned around what your customers type into Google, so they find you and pick up the phone. For owners who need a new site or a redesign that brings in work, designed and optimized by one team.

The problem

Why most new websites never show up on Google

You paid for a website that looks good. People who see it like it. The trouble is that few people ever see it, because when your customers search for what you sell, Google shows them someone else.

A laptop showing a polished website on the counter of an empty shop after closing
A site can look finished and still bring in nobody.

Search came after the design

The pages were drawn first and the words filled in later. Nobody checked what your customers actually type, so the site talks about your business in your words, not theirs, and some of what you sell has no page to be found on.

The designer and the SEO person were two companies

One made it look right. The other was hired after launch to make it rank. When the phone stayed quiet, each pointed at the other, and you paid them both.

In plain words

SEO web design means the pages, the words on them, the speed and the structure of your site are planned around what your customers search for, before anything is designed. Being found on Google is part of the plan from the first sketch, not a repair job after launch.

One decision, two sides

What your customers see and what Google reads, built at the same time

Every part of a website has a side your customers see and a side Google reads to decide whether to show it. Our web design and SEO services make both sides of each decision together, from the first draft.

  1. A heading in the words people search

    They see
A headline that says what you do, in their words.
    Google reads
The search your page should show up for.
  2. A page for each service and each place

    They see
The service they need, in their area, one tap away.
    Google reads
A separate page to match each search, instead of one page guessing at all of them.
  3. Fast on a phone

    They see
A page that's ready before they give up and go back.
    Google reads
A quick, phone-friendly page, one of the things it checks.
  4. Structured data Google can read

    They see
Your hours, phone and service area, easy to find.
    Google reads
The same facts as labels in the page's code, called structured data, so it knows what you do and where.
  5. Every old page address redirected

    They see
Old links and bookmarks land on the right new page.
    Google reads
Where each old page moved, so the place you've earned in search carries over.
  6. Calls and forms tracked

    They see
A call button and a short form, right where they're ready to act.
    Google reads
Each call and form, counted from launch day, so you see which searches bring in work.

Six decisions, each made once, by the two people who design and build your site.

Real work

One site, designed and optimized together: Stratalock

Stratalock fixes foundations by injecting the weak soil underneath instead of driving piers, a method most people have never heard of. They sell it to homeowners, commercial property owners and infrastructure contractors, three buyers who search for different things. So we mapped how each one buys before any page was designed.

What we built

27
pages, organized by buyer. Six service pages and eight case studies among them, all made from one set of parts so every page matches.
3
landing pages, one per kind of buyer, each written for how that buyer decides.
4
pages, one for each metro area they serve, with that area's case studies and its own structured data telling Google where the business works.

Research to launch

How we build a site that's ready to rank from day one

Good SEO website design is mostly a matter of order: research first, so every page, headline and button after it has a real search to answer. Here is the work, start to finish, and your part in it.

A website page plan laid out as rows of blank index cards beside a laptop
Research before design: the page plan comes first.
  1. Research

Find what your customers search, and how often

We look up the words your customers type for each thing you sell, and how many people type them each month.

Your part Tell us what you sell and which jobs you want more of.

  2. Page plan

Plan a page for each thing you sell and each place you serve

Those searches become a map of the site: one page per service, one per area you work in, each aimed at its own search. Our page on search engine optimization in Plano shows that plan for one city.

Your part Add what we missed, cut what you're done doing.

  3. Design and words

Design and write each page to answer the searcher and get the call

Each page opens with the answer to what they searched, gives a reason to pick you, and puts the call button where they're ready.

Your part Review it on a preview link.

  4. Build

Build it fast and clean, with old addresses redirected

Pages load quickly on a phone and carry labels that tell Google what each one is. Every old page address points at its new page, so the traffic you have comes with you.

Your part Nothing, unless you have photos to send.

  5. Launch

Launch with calls tracked and Google connected

Calls and form fills are counted from day one, and the site is connected to Google Search Console, Google's own report of which searches show you.

Your part The site is yours. Edit your own text, hours, prices and photos any time.

Once you say go, a typical site launches in about 60 days.

SEO after launch

Optional

Retainers run between $1,500 and $5,000 per month, depending on how much you want to take on.

It's how you climb for the harder, more competitive searches over time. Skip it and your site still launches with its SEO groundwork done.

Questions before you book

The short answers to what's probably on your mind. Anything we haven't covered, ask us on the call.

Cost

Am I paying twice, once for the site and again for SEO?

No. The work that gets you found on Google, from the research to the redirects, is inside the build price, and you get that price as a fixed quote in writing. SEO after launch is a separate choice you can skip.

Your traffic

Will a redesign lose the Google traffic I already have?

Not from pages going missing. We map every old page address to its new page and redirect it, so visitors and Google land in the right place. On a recent move of an online store to a new site, we checked all 588 old addresses live: 588 of 588 redirected.

Timing

How long until I show up on Google, and can you promise it?

Weeks for some searches, months for most. Longer, more specific searches can move in 30 to 60 days, and competitive ones for what you do take 6 to 12 months. Nobody can guarantee rankings and we won't, and our plain take on whether SEO is a scam explains why.

Ownership

Do I own the site, and can I change it myself?

Yes, all of it. The domain, the code and the hosting accounts are yours, and you can take the site anywhere, including to another developer. Day to day, you change your own text, hours, prices and photos in a simple editor we set up for you.

After launch

Do I have to keep paying for SEO after launch?

No. The site launches with its SEO groundwork done, and that stays done whether or not you hire us again. Ongoing SEO is optional: it's how you climb for the harder, more competitive searches over time.

Doing it yourself

Can I do the SEO myself?

Yes. The site is built so you can add pages and edit the words on them yourself. Google Search Console, Google's own report of which searches show you, is connected at launch, so you can see what's working.

Working together

You're not local. Is a remote SEO web design company easy to work with?

Yes. We work fully remote, with clients across North America. Kickoff is on Google Meet, and you review the work on a preview link as it's built.

Something else on your mind? Ask it on the call.
