Kyle & Katie · Colorado-based, remote

The Denver SEO company that audits before it pitches.

Shortlisting a Denver SEO company? Here is exactly who you would get: Kyle on strategy and the build, Katie on operations and your account. Two senior people, Colorado-based and remote, with nobody junior in between.

Step one costs nothing. We put in writing where you rank across Denver today, and it lands with you before any call or contract.

Before you shortlist anyone

What page one for “denver seo company” tells you and the one thing it leaves out.

Search it and Google hands you a ready-made shortlist: three Denver agencies in the map pack, two best-of lists, a forum thread of owners asking for names, then agency service pages. Ours is one of them.

The lists sort by size and reviews. None of it shows whether an agency can rank a business like yours. Five questions will.

Search: denver seo company Page 1
  1. Map pack 3 Denver agencies

Tells youwho is nearby, relevant and well known

  2. Best-of lists 2

Tells youwho is biggest and most reviewed

  3. Forum thread owners asking

Tells youwho a stranger happened to like

  4. Agency pages ours included

Tells youwhat each agency says about itself

Missing from all four Whether they can rank you.

Five questions for every company on the list. Us included.

  1. Who actually does the work?

Get names. If the person pitching you hands you to someone you never meet, that is your answer.

  2. What do I own if I leave?

Your site, content, Google profile and analytics belong in accounts under your name, not theirs.

  3. What does the monthly report show?

Ask to see a real one. Look for calls, forms and rankings on searches that pay, not just traffic charts.

  4. What won’t you promise?

Nobody controls Google. An honest agency tells you what it can’t guarantee before you sign.

  5. What happens in month one?

Listen for specifics: what gets audited, what gets fixed first, and the date you see it.

Take them into every call you book.

The map pack, mapped

Why your map pack stops at the next suburb

By Google’s own account, the three map-pack spots go to businesses on relevance, distance and prominence. Distance is the one that catches Denver owners out.

Your customers treat Denver, Aurora, Lakewood, Arvada, Thornton, Westminster and Centennial as one place. Google measures from your address. A shop that owns the pack on its own block can vanish from it three exits away, and you never notice, because you only search from your own desk.

So we measure before we fix. A geogrid scan runs your main search from dozens of points across the metro and records where you appear at each. It’s the first page of every Denver SEO audit we send.

Geogrid scan Example · central Denver
Geogrid of rank dots over a street grid: orange around one central pin, fading to amber, then grey toward the edges
  • In the pack
  • Just below it
  • Not shown

Each dot is the same search, run from that spot. Suburb positions are approximate.

Three factors. We can move two of them.

  • Movable

    Relevance

Profile categories that match what you actually sell, and service-area pages for the places you really serve. Not a page for every town on the map.

  • Movable, slowly

    Prominence

Reviews from real customers, asked for steadily and answered every time.

  • Fixed in place

    Distance

Your address won’t move. So we build organic pages that reach the searchers a few suburbs over, the ones the pack never will.

Paid-search receipts

What Denver search terms taught us when every click cost money.

Four of our Google Ads clients are Denver-metro businesses. Their search-term reports list the exact words people typed before clicking, and each click was paid for. That makes them the most honest keyword research there is. Three stories from our results page, August to September 2026. Every number below is from paid search, not organic rankings.

Gold & coin buyer Walk-in store, Denver metro

They searched for a coin shop. The ad talked about selling coins.

Half the budget rode on one keyword, and the words didn’t match. We gave “coin shop” and “coin dealer” their own ad group, then rewrote the landing page to say the same thing.

What it means for SEO

Build pages for the words customers really use. Skip the ones that never convert.

So before any Denver search engine optimization, we read the search terms a business already pays for. Want buyers clicking while organic rankings catch up? That’s what our Google Ads management is for.

Bullfinch Mountain TimeReplies within four business hours
  1. Do you have a Denver office?

We’re Colorado-based and remote. Same Mountain Time as you. Kickoff and reviews happen on Google Meet, and every report sits in a shared doc you can open any day.

  2. Can you get us into the Denver map pack?

It depends. Mostly on your address and your category. The geogrid scan shows where you appear today, and which parts of the metro can realistically move.

  3. How long until we see movement?

Weeks, then months. Quick wins on long-tail searches can move in 30 to 60 days. Real category-defining rankings take 6 to 12 months.

  4. Do you guarantee page one?

No. Google decides what ranks, not us, so be wary of anyone who promises page one. We tell you what we expect to move, then show you whether it did.

  5. Do we keep the work if we leave?

Yes. Every page, rewrite and fix stays on your site, and we document what we changed so whoever comes next can pick it up.

  6. Can you work on a site you didn’t build?

Yes. We audit what’s already there and work with it. If the site itself is what’s holding you back, you’ll hear that from us first.
